Having grown up in a successful family-run restaurant in Fukui, Japan, Executive Chef Satomi brings her Japanese cooking expertise to her namesake SATO in Buffalo, NY.
She has developed a culinary style of Japanese tradition and creativity that stems from a deep understanding of traditional Japanese flavors. Both restaurants feature house-made noodles and original scratch made ramen soups.
Satomi's father Yoshio started Ichi-Ryu Ramen in Fukui, Japan and her uncle Ryozo and now her cousin Kazu runs Ichi-Ryu in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo.
SATO is in the heart of the Elmwood Village, and you can enjoy Japanese food that is scratch-made, fresh, healthy, and sophisticated, with authentic Japanese flavors. Our Elmwood location has a diverse Japanese food menu ranging from sushi, ramen, Japanese curry, salad etc. with a wide array of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items.
Sato Ramen evolved from a Fukui-style ramen, which consists of a pork tonkotsu and chicken blend that adheres to a quality balanced broth of hardiness and smoothness enjoyable year-round. You can also enjoy variety of rice bowls, and many vegan and vegetarian options.
